Providence Rec Center has been a place to have fun for over 50
years. From the time when my father was a child to my childhood we grew up playing
at PRC. My friends and I would spend hours at the Center after school as I saw
my father grinning on the side knowing years ago he was in my shoes. Recently the county was going to close it and put
in a shopping mall. The community stepped in and prevented this from happening.
PRC formed my childhood or better said, our childhood.

I really liked how you incorporated the significance of the park to you, your father and your community, it really shows have important the park is to everyone. You could add more details about the visuals of the park like what it looks like and what it feels like when you're there so the reader feels like they're a kid playing in the park and they can relate to the importance of parks were during their childhood.
ReplyDeleteI really like how you showed the rec centers importance not only to you, but to your father as well. And a community always seems to be stronger when a common crisis is being faced. Maybe you could improve your blog by talking a bit more about the actions that your community took to protect the center in order to be more convincing of its importance.
ReplyDeleteI read another blog just before I came to read this one about a community coming together to protect their surroundings. It is nice to hear that they can stand up to others, who do not have the connection to these places that you do.
